Hailing from the city of Casablanca in Morocco, Badr has spent the last 20+ years eating and cooking around the world. With a background in IT and finance, and now a career in the food industry, Badr has earned multiple awards for his establishments and himself including the 2016 “Chef of the Year” award at the CityWeekend Beijing Readers Choice Awards. He has also won the “Golden Bear Award” at the 2017 Belt & Road Culinary Competition. The same year, he became involved in television programs connecting Morocco and China through tea and couscous with appearances in CCTV’s “A Journey through Tea”. In 2019, his restaurant, Caravan was awarded the award of Best Mediterranean Restaurant in Beijing. In 2020, Badr earned a spot as one of only 8 foreign chefs in China to take part in the finals 《厨王争霸》, China’s biggest cooking show.
